Summer is the perfect time to move beyond the classroom and discover the advantages of an internship. Internships give students relevant work experience, the chance to develop professional skills and the opportunity to make contacts in a chosen career field. All this, and University of Idaho credit, too! The Career Center can help students find academically relevant work experience. Career Center staff works with academic departments and potential employers to connect students with an appropriate work experience. They also critique resumes and help students focus their internship search on career-oriented opportunities. Using Vandal CareerConnection’s extensive database of available jobs and internships, students can locate national internship positions, as well as internships available through companies that regularly recruit University of Idaho students.

Students should discuss their summer internship plans with their respective department and register for internship credit.
