Idaho Repertory TheatreIdaho Repertory Theatre

Celebrate the magic. As house lights dim and curtains rise, the pulse quickens. A spell is cast. Time is suspended; imagination reigns. This is theatre. This is the magic of theatre. Since 1953, the Idaho Repertory Theatre has captivated audiences with its own powerful magic. It is one of the oldest professional summer theatre companies in the Northwest, second only to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland. It’s the talk of the town during the summer when Idaho Rep stages four plays in classic repertory format during a four-week season. IRT’s home is the intimate 417-seat Hartung Theatre at the University of Idaho. A new outdoor stage near the theatre is the site for under-the-stars performances of the season’s Shakespeare plan, complete with a Green Show of live musicians before each show.
