Degree-Seeking Students | Graduate Programs
Admission to the College of Graduate Studies is open to any student who holds a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, who has maintained good academic standing in previous institutions attended, and has an overall baccalaureate G.P.A. of 2.80. Admission matters ultimately involve the department administrator, the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and the Graduate Admissions Office. Please note that some graduate programs do not admit new students in the summer term.
All applicants for admission are required to submit: 1.) the appropriate, completed application form, 2.) official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended, 3.) scores from the Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for international applicants, and 4.) a nonrefundable application fee ($55 for domestic applicants, $60 for international applicants).
Individual departments may have additional admissions requirements. Information about the graduate admission process is available from the Graduate Admissions Office (208) 885-4001 or by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org. A prospective student can apply for admission and receive information about specific programs, teaching/research assistantships and housing at Graduate Admissions. Initial admission is granted to a specific program for a specific semester with the concurrence of the department offering the major. The Graduate Admissions Office should receive applications and credentials for summer session by April 1 to assure timely review of admission files by academic departments.
